A flying visit but incredible journey along the East coast of Scotland to photograph the staff and environment at the Castle of Mey. The former holiday home of the late Queen Mother is the most northerly castle on the British mainland and overlooks the dramatic cliffs over the Pentland Firth on Orkney.
A shoot for Worldhost at the fabulous Portadavie Resort on Loch Fyne. Portavadie Marina is located on the Cowal Peninsular on the West coast of Scotland, some 40 miles from Glasgow.
Shoot for ABB in Dubai in association with Media Zoo London. The concept centred around safety - safety at work allows you to live a safe life. The blistering heat and shooting during Ramadan had it's challenges but the people of Dubai were warm and incredibly welcoming. Can't wait to go back.
The Famous Grouse Experience at Glenturret Distillery is a unique whisky experience blending the popularity of one of the UK's most successful whiskies, The Famous Grouse, with Scotland's oldest single malt whisky, The Glenturret still hand crafted as it was over two centuries ago using the only remaining hand operated mash tun in Scotland. Working with Jump Marketing Ltd we documented a day in the life of the fantastic staff guiding people through the whisky experience.
A dawn shoot for the Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation, which started out promising - the dawn mist clearing over Loch Lomond revealing the far bank and hills and the impending sunrise. Then the heavens opened, so these shots were taken lying on the ground with multiple umbrellas covering the equipment (and me - partially) and a long exposure to hide the Loch being pitted with raindrops.
Two weeks, three continents, a dropped lens and a stolen MacBook. A memorable shoot for The Brand Union's client - DHL Global.
A quick scoot up to Glasgow and the fab Boclair House Hotel to photograph the President of the National Association of Estate Agents - David Mackie.
Last week I spent some time with the staff at Currie European. From their head office in Dumfries, South Scotland, Currie provides logistics and transport services across western Europe, operating in excess of 700 trucks and trailers on behalf of its clients. The shoot was mainly concentrated around the logistics staff in a fairly dark office environment with the occasional shaft of sunlight finding its way through the slatted blinds.
Ok - so a few days in the warm sunshine in Bodrum, Turkey is never a bad thing, especially when the client gives a 'shoot what you see' brief to promote their new luxury development and the environment where it's located. It was a shame to leave Scotland for a few days as the wall to wall sunshine we have been experiencing has been amazing - but as we all know this is not going to last!
