Edinburgh Council

The Women’s Safety campaign was launched by Edinburgh Council in collaboration with Police Scotland, NHS Lothian, the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh Napier University. This initiative came as a direct response to two extensive consultations. The findings from these consultations were alarming: between 73.9% and 80.5% of women reported experiencing harassment, abuse, or violence while in public spaces throughout Edinburgh.

As a professional photographer based in Edinburgh, I had the opportunity to document this crucial campaign through impactful lifestyle photography and community engagement imagery. My goal was to capture the essence of the initiative, showcasing the stories and experiences of women in our city, as well as the collaborative efforts of the organisations involved.

I aimed to highlight the strength, resilience, and solidarity among women in Edinburgh. The campaign emphasises the importance of creating safe environments and raising awareness about the challenges women face in public spaces.

I worked to create a visual narrative that resonates with viewers, drawing attention to the need for change and fostering dialogue around women's safety. These images will be used across various platforms, including social media, promotional materials, and community outreach efforts, helping to spread awareness and encourage further action.

By participating in this important campaign, I hope my photography contributes to the ongoing conversation about women's safety and inspires positive change within our communities. If you're interested in powerful imagery that can elevate your campaign or project, I would love to collaborate with you to create compelling visual content that makes a difference.
